So I went back to the Doctor's today to find out the results of my lab work and get the boob job thing going. I am as healthy as an ox! Oh and not only that, I have shed 2 lbs since my last visit. Although I attribute that to taking a shit before going to the office today. But, I'll take a 2 lb shed!! My thyroid is apparently fine (so why do I have crap ass hair and gained a ton of weight???). The doc brought up a good point, the weight I can shed, a bum thyroid you have for life. I like the positive attitude. And just cuz I'm feeling smug, my cholesterol ratio is 2.5. Seriously, at this rate I may live forever!

And, as for the boobs, he is setting up an appointment with the boob doc. If this can get rid of my headaches and neck issues..woo hoo!! Let's keep our fingers crossed.

So part of PE in California is running a mile. They actually don't start doing it until 4th grade, but unless we prepare them ahead of time, it is painful for the 4th grade teachers. So I am doing my part and preparing the 3rd graders. Now, 1 mile may not seem like a lot, but for some of us we huff and puff. And in order to save face in front of the kids, we are 'working up to running a mile'. I run it with them. At any rate, we do 4 laps (that roughly equals a mile). Our idea of working up to it is to walk the first lap, jog the second, walk the third and then jog the fourth. I figure by the end of the year, we will be able to jog all four laps. This is our 3rd time doing this. We do it every Wed. This is how it went:
Lap 1 -- good energy, excited, a few laggers, but in general pretty good.
Lap 2 -- many obese kids (sadly, very obese in some cases) can't run 1/4 of one lap. That's like 1/16 of a mile, the length of one block...very sad. Then there was the kid who got too close to the fence, his shoe slid under and got the laces so tangled in the fence I had to unlace the whole damn shoe. Seriously, how does one do that?? Oh, after this lap several girls had to go to the bathroom "really bad".  My response? "No, you can go at the end." Yep, they're sneaky and I'm mean!
Lap 3 -- getting somewhat back on track. It's a walking lap, how hard could this be? Well, for some HARD!!! The laggers were even more lagging.
Lap 4 -- Partially disastrous. One student decided that cutting across the field and rolling was way more fun. Shoe lace boy had to walk as I couldn't get the shoes laced back up. And the poor obese children were dying. Although one supposedly told her mom that she didn't want anymore McD's.

In short if you're looking for a good time on Wed. afternoons, stop by and 'run' with us!
